Racing Incident Report
BULLISH FRIEND began awkwardly and lost ground. After being crossed by RED COURAGE approaching the 800 Metres, EXPEDITE proved difficult to settle and was steadied away from the heels of that horse for some distance. Making the first turn near the 650 Metres, KEEP-A-PIN got its head on the side and hung out, taking GOAL AND GOLD wider. After this, KEEP-A-PIN continued to hang out, resulting in GOAL AND GOLD being taken wider still. Approaching the 600 Metres, BULLISH FRIEND was checked when disappointed for running between KEEP-A-PIN and MIZZEN GREY which shifted out away from the heels of EXPEDITE. After this, BULLISH FRIEND was able to secure running between MIZZEN GREY and KEEP-A-PIN and for some distance approaching the Home Turn was awkwardly placed close to the heels of FIERY WHISPERER. Rounding the Home Turn, BULLISH FRIEND and KEEP-A-PIN raced tight as BULLISH FRIEND improved to the outside of FIERY WHISPERER. After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on FIERY WHISPERER at the request of Trainer K W Lui. The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, FIERY WHISPERER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. It was also reported that FIERY WHISPERER had lost its left front plate. Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that KEEP-A-PIN had lost its right front plate. RED COURAGE and FIERY WHISPERER were sent for sampling.
<28/5/2012 Additional Veterinary Report> The Clinical Veterinary Surgeon reported that BULLISH FRIEND was lame in the right front leg on the day after racing. Before being allowed to race again, BULLISH FRIEND will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
