Racing Incident Report
SUN DRAGON was slow to begin and shortly after the start was crowded for room between ELECTRONIC FORTUNE and OVERNIGHT SUCCESS which shifted out. After the 600 Metres, AL PRINCE got its head on the side and hung out. For some distance after the 400 Metres, TAKE BY STORM was steadied away from the heels of AL PRINCE which commenced to give ground. Passing the 300 Metres, TAKE BY STORM was again steadied when crowded for room between AL PRINCE and ELECTRONIC FORTUNE (O Doleuze) which shifted out to obtain clear running. O Doleuze was advised to exercise care when shifting ground in similar circumstances. After the 100 Metres, ELECTRONIC FORTUNE got its head on the side and lay in. The performance of OVERNIGHT SUCCESS, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, OVERNIGHT SUCCESS will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Throughout the race, WINNING ARCH travelled wide and without cover. After the race, D Beadman reported that WIND CHARGER over-reached near the 500 Metres and became unbalanced. A veterinary inspection of WIND CHARGER after the race revealed that the horse was lame in its right front leg and had lost its right front plate. Before being allowed to race again, WIND CHARGER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of AL PRINCE after the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, AL PRINCE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that OVERNIGHT SUCCESS had lost its right front plate. GLORY WIN, ELECTRONIC FORTUNE and LORD DRAGON were sent for sampling.
