Racing Incident Report

CHATER MIKADO stood flat footed at the start and lost a considerable amount of ground. Before being allowed to race again, CHATER MIKADO will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. From wide barriers, FORTUNE RED PEPPER and PIZZAZZ were taken across behind runners shortly after the start. GROOVY was crowded for room at the start between CROWN WITNESS and JUMBO GOLD which shifted out. Making the turn after the 600 Metres, GROOVY got its head on the side and shifted in, resulting in PAGANINI’S SOUL being crowded for room. Near the 100 Metres, ELITE SIXTY-SIX was crowded for room between WITHINMYHEART and CHATER MIKADO which, when taking a tight run between ELITE SIXTY-SIX and FLYING SMART, was taken in marginally by that horse. As there was no rider error involved in this incident, no further action was taken. Near the 50 Metres, JUMBO GOLD, which was having difficulty obtaining clear running, was awkwardly placed close to the heels of CROWN WITNESS. As a result, JUMBO GOLD was steadied away from the heels of that horse. Over the concluding stages, FORTUNE RED PEPPER got its head on the side and hung in. This resulted in TOUCH GO racing tight to the inside of FORTUNE RED PEPPER. Close to the finishing line, H W Lai (ROMANTIC CITY) dropped his whip. Throughout the race, ELITE SIXTY-SIX travelled wide and without cover. A veterinary inspection of TOUCH GO after the race did not show any significant findings. PIZZAZZ and CROWN WITNESS were sent for sampling.
