Racing Incident Report

Just prior to the start being effected, BEST ELEVEN became fractious and was then slow to begin. SUPREME TAIJI was slow to begin and then shortly after the start was steadied away from the heels of VILASOL which shifted out after being bumped by GROOVY. Near the 1100 Metres, CHARMGOLD and MASTER GUNNER were crowded for room between VILASOL and FIVE CLUBS which shifted in after being bumped by KIDCONI. After the 600 Metres, GROOVY got its head on the side and shifted out towards the heels of FIVE CLUBS. Near the 400 Metres, FIVE CLUBS raced in restricted room between GROOVY and KIDCONI. Shortly after entering into the Straight, MASTER GUNNER was awkwardly placed inside the heels of FIVE CLUBS which shifted in slightly. Throughout the race, KIDCONI travelled wide and without cover. When questioned, Apprentice C Y Ho (THE PRINCE) said that after the 200 Metres his mount was finishing off the race only one-paced. He said he used the whip on the horse on a number of occasions but, in his opinion, THE PRINCE was not responding and therefore he elected, over the concluding stages, to put the whip away and ride the horse out hands and heels to the finish. Apprentice Ho was advised his explanation would be reported, however, he should at all times ride his mounts out to the best of his ability given the circumstances. A veterinary inspection of KIDCONI after the race did not show any significant findings. BEST ELEVEN, GROOVY and MONEYMAKER were sent for sampling.
