Racing Incident Report
After being loaded, PENGLAI XIANZI became fractious. Before being allowed to race again, PENGLAI XIANZI will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. From wide barriers, OSVALDO, KYARA and RICH TAPESTRY were taken across behind runners shortly after the start. When being shifted across behind HAPPY TUMBLER approaching the winning post on the first occasion, KING AL AKBAR got its head up when awkwardly placed close to the heels of that horse which was steadied away from the heels of FUN RIDER. Near the 1300 Metres, STRAIGHT FORWARD was momentarily crowded for room inside FUN RIDER. Approaching and after the 800 Metres, KYARA got its head up when awkwardly placed close to the heels of HAPPY TUMBLER. Near the 250 Metres, FUN RIDER (N Callan) and HAPPY TUMBLER (B Prebble) raced tight. N Callan explained that in this incident his whip became caught between FUN RIDER and HAPPY TUMBLER and in the process of attempting to free his whip, his left arm extended away from his body. He said he did not believe that at any time his left arm made contact with Jockey Prebble as he felt that at this time his body was marginally in front of that of B Prebble. N Callan was advised that whilst the Stewards did not believe that his riding at this time was improper, nonetheless he was warned against the practice of extending his arm away from his body. After the 200 Metres, D Beadman (KYARA) dropped his whip. After the 100 Metres, OSVALDO was not able to obtain clear running and because of this was not able to be properly tested over the concluding stages. KYARA, PENGLAI XIANZI and HAPPY TUMBLER were sent for sampling.
