Racing Incident Report

JAI JAI HO was slow to begin. Shortly after the start, DIVINE KID was steadied away from the heels of LIVERBIRD which shifted in. In the early and middle stages, BREAKING POINT proved difficult to settle and throughout the race travelled wide and without cover. Passing the 1100 Metres, WADASURPRISE became unbalanced when crowded for room between KIMBERLEY and BEAUTIFUL CHOICE which was shifted out away from the heels of DANESOUTH. For some distance after this, WADASURPRISE raced in restricted room inside KIMBERLEY (Apprentice C Y Ho) which shifted in and then near the 900 Metres WADASURPRISE was steadied when unable to maintain its position between BEAUTIFUL CHOICE and KIMBERLEY which continue to shift in. Apprentice Ho was severely reprimanded and told to ensure that he leaves sufficient racing room for runners to his inside in future. Rounding the Home Turn, ROCKET AND GOLD was awkwardly placed close to the heels of KIMBERLEY which was shifting out to obtain clear running. Then after the 400 Metres, ROCKET AND GOLD was steadied when disappointed for running between KIMBERLEY and OSCAR PRINCE. A veterinary inspection of JAI JAI HO, which finished tailed out, after the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of JAI JAI HO was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, JAI JAI HO will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that ROCKET AND GOLD had sustained a wound to the right front coronet. DANESOUTH WADASURPRISE and KIMBERLEY were sent for sampling.
