Racing Incident Report

B Doyle (VICTORY IDE SAY) was fined a sum of $2,000 for presenting himself late in the Parade Ring. After being loaded, VICTORY IDE SAY reared and momentarily sat down. VICTORY IDE SAY was removed from the barriers and examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. Before being allowed to race again, VICTORY IDE SAY will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. After the 800 Metres, PRETTY ONE got its head up and proved difficult to settle when steadied away from the heels of INTELLECTUALSTRIDE which shifted in when barely clear. Also passing the 800 Metres, STAR OF FAME was steadied away from the heels of ADORATION. Over the final 100 Metres, STAR OF FAME raced tight outside IMPECCABLE which got its head on the side and shifted out under pressure. When questioned, B Doyle stated that at the entrance to the Straight he commenced to shift to the outside of runners and with the intention of continuing to come to the very outside of SUPER BRAND to make his final run. He said however that after the 400 Metres a run appeared between MEGA CHAMPION and inside SUPER BRAND and he attempted to pursue this run rather than continuing to shift to the outside of SUPER BRAND. He said when he did this, MEGA CHAMPION was taken out slightly by NUGGET WARRIOR, resulting in the run commencing to close. He said as VICTORY IDE SAY was positioned to the inside of the heels of SUPER BRAND, rather than steady VICTORY IDE SAY and come to the outside of that horse, he elected to shift to the inside of MEGA CHAMPION to continue improving. He added that VICTORY IDE SAY responded well to his riding after this, however, over the concluding stages was held up for clear running behind INTELLECTUALSTRIDE and to the inside of MEGA CHAMPION and because of this he was not able to ride VICTORY IDE SAY to the end of the race. PRETTY ONE and ADORATION were sent for sampling.
