Racing Incident Report

MAGIC TEMPLE was very slow to begin. Shortly after the start, JOYFUL LUCK became unbalanced when bumped by PERFECT FIT which shifted out. Making the turn after the 600 Metres, LONGWAH RISING got its head on the side and hung out, resulting in TOPPING LIGHT being taken wider. After this, TOPPING LIGHT travelled wide and without cover. Close to the finishing line, JUN DAO was awkwardly placed inside the heels of ABLE CHARM. Throughout the race, IMPECCABLE travelled wide and without cover. When questioned, J Lloyd stated that due to the anticipated fast pace of tonight’s race and the fact that ABLE CHARM had performed well when ridden quietly at its most recent start, it was decided that the horse should again be ridden in a similar manner. He said it was stressed to him that ABLE CHARM needs to settle in its races in order for it to be able to close off the race. He said for this reason although ABLE CHARM began well, he steadied the horse shortly after the start and shifted it across behind runners to obtain cover and to ensure that it was travelling comfortably. He said in the Straight ABLE CHARM was badly held up for clear running until after the 200 Metres. He added after obtaining clear running ABLE CHARM then finished off the race strongly. A veterinary inspection of LONGWAH RISING after the race revealed that the horse had bled from both nostrils. A veterinary inspection of MY TIME after the race did not show any significant findings. HORSE GALORE and TOPPING LIGHT were sent for sampling.
<24/3/2011 Additional Veterinary Report>MY TIME, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said at that time there were no significant findings. MY TIME was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer K L Man this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in the right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, MY TIME will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
