Racing Incident Report
OUR LUCKY BABY lost ground at the start when crowded for room between ENTHUSED and ROMANTIC CITY which began awkwardly and shifted in after leaning on the inside of its barrier. HIGH POINT was crowded for room shortly after the start between TURBO KING which shifted in and WATCH WHAT HAPPENS which shifted out. At the 1000 Metres, ENTHUSED shifted out when awkwardly placed close to the heels of TURBO KING and as a result was checked away from the heels of NIGHTLIGN. OUR LUCKY BABY, which was following, was hampered in consequence and because of this travelled back in the field. In the middle stages, WATCH WHAT HAPPENS proved very difficult to settle. Near the 500 Metres, PERFECT STYLE was momentarily crowded for room inside TURBO KING. Approaching the 200 Metres, FORTUNE RED PEPPER raced in restricted room inside VITAL FLYER which shifted in. Near the 150 Metres, WATCH WHAT HAPPENS was awkwardly placed close to the heels of TURBO KING when obtaining a tight run between that horse and EL ZONDA. Near the 50 Metres PERFECT STYLE was awkwardly placed inside the heels of HIGH POINT which shifted in slightly. Throughout the race, TURBO KING travelled wide and without cover. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of VITAL FLYER, O Doleuze stated that VITAL FLYER travelled satisfactorily in the run until about the 500 Metres at which point the horse raced tight inside PERFECT STYLE. He said his mount responded briefly to his riding in the early part of the Straight, but then was disappointing in its failure to close off the race. A veterinary inspection of VITAL FLYER after the race did not show any significant findings. FINAL ANSWER and TURBO KING were sent for sampling.
