Racing Incident Report

JOHNSON began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of PUBLIC FIGURE which became unbalanced. BEAUTY SUCCESS and ARION OF CHIU TON bumped heavily at the start. After this, BEAUTY SUCCESS travelled wide and without cover. From wide barriers, LUCKY FOLLOW ME and OCEAN PRINCE were taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Near the 1500 Metres, DOUBLE DRAGON shifted in abruptly despite the efforts of its rider, F Coetzee, resulting in CHAMPION MOUNT being checked. When corrected, DOUBLE DRAGON then shifted out abruptly, resulting in VIVA GUY being steadied when taken out towards the heels of PUBLIC FIGURE. Near the 350 Metres, OCEAN PRINCE was shifted to the inside of TAVERNER to obtain clear running. Passing the 200 Metres, TELECOM GOGO was steadied and shifted out when unable to obtain clear running between TAVERNER and ARION OF CHIU TON. Over the concluding stages, ARION OF CHIU TON got its head on the side and lay out. For the majority of the race, VIVA GUY travelled wide and without cover. B Prebble advised that despite him riding JOHNSON along vigorously with the whip in the early stages, the horse was reluctant to stretch out at any stage of the race. A veterinary inspection of JOHNSON and CHAMPION MOUNT after the race did not show any significant findings. KING AL AKBAR and PUBLIC FIGURE were sent for sampling.
<13/12/2010 Additional Veterinary Report>
The Clinical Veterinary Surgeon reported that MASTER ELITE was lame in its right front leg on the morning after racing. Before being allowed to race again, MASTER ELITE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
