Racing Incident Report

EURO POWER was slow to begin. As the start was effected, SECRET OF WINNING lifted its front feet off the ground, began awkwardly and consequently lost ground. LONGWAH RISING and DESTINY`S CHILD bumped at the start. Passing the 600 Metres, SECRET OF WINNING shifted out away from the heels of MULTIPROUD. Near the 500 Metres, LONGWAH RISING got its head on the side, shifted out and became awkwardly placed close to the heels of OUR PEGASUS which at this time shifted in. Approaching the 400 Metres, AT MOMENT IN TIME and GRAND DRAGON were crowded for room inside DESTINY`S CHILD (H W Lai) which shifted in. H W Lai was reprimanded and advised to ensure that he is sufficiently clear when shifting ground in similar circumstances. Throughout the race, DESTINY`S CHILD travelled wide and without cover. B Doyle (LONGWAH RISING) was fined a sum of $3,000 for weighing in after the race 2 lbs overweight. A veterinary inspection of SECRET OF WINNING after the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucopus in the horse`s trachea. AT MOMENT IN TIME and OUR PEGASUS were sent for sampling.
