Racing Incident Report
ORIENTAL COURSER began awkwardly. BEL CANTO shifted out at the start and bumped WHITE DRAGON. Passing the 600 Metres, KING CREOLE was crowded for room outside WHITE DRAGON which at this time was taken out by FAIRY DRAGON which itself was taken out by GLITTERING. After the 200 Metres, BLESS US ALL was awkwardly placed outside the heels of LEAD THE PROSPECTS which shifted out under pressure. Then over the concluding stages, BLESS US ALL raced close to the heels of FAIRY DRAGON. Whilst the Stewards considered the riding out of Apprentice M L Yeung (WHITE DRAGON) over the concluding stages did not affect that horse’s placing in the race, he was nonetheless reminded of his obligation to vigorously ride his mounts out to the end of the race where circumstances permit. When questioned regarding the performance of MUSTANG, B Prebble stated that the horse travelled well until passing the 500 Metres, however, after this point came off the bridle and was disappointing in its failure to respond to his riding over the final 400 Metres. A veterinary inspection of MUSTANG and KING CREOLE after the race did not show any significant findings. MUSTANG, ORIENTAL COURSER and FAIRY DRAGON were sent for sampling.
