Racing Incident Report
When questioned, B Prebble said that due to the quick tempo of the race in the early and middle stages, BOUNCER got further out of its ground than he had hoped. He said in an endeavour to have the horse race closer to the main body of the field, he struck it with the whip passing the 1000 Metres and again passing the 700 Metres, however, BOUNCER at that time was not able to improve its position significantly. He added the manner in which BOUNCER raced in the early and middle stages gave him the impression that it is better suited by races over distances longer than that of today’s. Throughout the race, LU YUE travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground. DEPOSER, CERISE CHERRY and BOUNCER were sent for sampling.
