Racing Incident Report
EXCELLENT WIN was withdrawn on 3.7.10 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore). Before being allowed to race again, EXCELLENT WIN will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Whilst in the assembly area, it was noted that LIBERATOR had lost its right front plate. This plate was refitted. LIBERATOR was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. After being loaded, CHEETAH BOY became fractious, reared, then attempted to get under the front gates and became cast. CHEETAH BOY was removed from the barriers and examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was not suitable to race. Acting on this advice, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of CHEETAH BOY. Before being allowed to race again, CHEETAH BOY will be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Also after being loaded, DASHING ACE reared and momentarily sat down. DASHING ACE was removed from the barriers and examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. Before being allowed to race again, DASHING ACE will be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial. HINYUEN PALADIN began awkwardly. Near the 1100 Metres, FAY FAY was steadied away from the heels of CARE FREE LUCK (B Prebble) which shifted in when not properly clear. B Prebble was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances. After the 900 Metres, FAY FAY was left racing three wide and without cover. At the 800 Metres, TRAVEL PRINCE was steadied away from the heels of HINYUEN PALADIN. Near the 200 Metres, CARE FREE LUCK was steadied away from the heels of TRAVEL PRINCE (Apprentice M L Yeung) which shifted to the outside of HINYUEN PALADIN to improve. Apprentice Yeung was advised to ensure that he is sufficiently clear when shifting ground in similar circumstances. A veterinary inspection of CARE FREE LUCK after the race revealed that the horse was lame in its left front leg. Before being allowed to race again, CARE FREE LUCK will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. FAY FAY and REAL SUPREME were sent for sampling. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that FAY FAY had lost its left hind plate and that TRAVEL PRINCE had lost its right front plate.
