Racing Incident Report

SUPER GOAL MASTER and THISTLE SPIRIT were slow to begin. BLEDISLOE began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of SPARKLING, causing both horses to become unbalanced. A short distance later, SPARKLING was steadied away from the heels of FERRABOSCO. Shortly after the start, POLYGOLD and ESPERANZA were steadied when crowded for room between GLORIOUS GIANT and PROSPERITY KID which shifted out after being brushed by ALL TIME HIGH. Rounding the Home Turn, SOHNA was steadied away from the heels of GLORIOUS GIANT. Passing the 300 Metres, SOHNA was severely checked to avoid the heels of CHARITABLE STAR which was commencing to give ground. In this incident, SOHNA was shifted in abruptly away from the heels of CHARITABLE STAR. At the 200 Metres, GLORIOUS GIANT (C W Wong), which was laying in, struck the heels of CHARITABLE STAR which was continuing to give ground. As a consequence, GLORIOUS GIANT blundered, resulting in C W Wong being dislodged. No further action was taken. In this incident, ESPERANZA, which was following, was checked and shifted out to avoid the fallen rider. After the race, C W Wong was examined by the Club’s medical officers and was passed fit to fulfil his remaining riding engagements. Throughout the race, SPARKLING travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight hung in and proved difficult to ride. ALL TIME HIGH and BLEDISLOE were sent for sampling. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that GLORIOUS GIANT and CHARITABLE STAR had lost their left front plates.
