Racing Incident Report

BULLISH GOLD was slow to begin and then shortly after the start was taken across behind runners. OUR LUCKY BABY was slow to begin and then despite being vigorously ridden took some time to muster speed. After this, OUR LUCKY BABY raced wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground. The performance of OUR LUCKY BABY, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, OUR LUCKY BABY will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Near the 1100 Metres, NIGHTLIGN was steadied away from the heels of OUR LUCKY BABY which shifted out. After this, NIGHTLIGN was taken across behind runners. Near the 600 Metres, ROYAL PERICLES became unbalanced and lost ground when momentarily crowded for room inside HEARTLINE (Z Purton) which shifted in a minimal amount of ground. Z Purton was advised that, whilst HEARTLINE did not shift a significant amount of ground, he should ensure he leaves comfortable racing room for horses to his inside. Near the 550 Metres, DYNAMIC BLITZ was awkwardly placed inside the heels of PRIME CHAMPION which shifted in slightly. A short distance after this, DIM SUM was steadied away from the heels of PRIME CHAMPION. Near the 400 Metres, PRIME CHAMPION was steadied away from the heels of OUR LUCKY BABY which shifted out slightly when commencing to give ground. In this incident, PRIME CHAMPION shifted out and bumped DIM SUM. Passing the 200 Metres, M Chadwick (BULLISH GOLD) dropped his whip. Approaching the 100 Metres, CRAIG’S DRAGON was momentarily crowded for room between YELLOW DIAMOND and AMIGO, both of which shifted ground. Near the 50 Metres, EXPRESS WIN shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of ROYAL PERICLES which became unbalanced. After this, EXPRESS WIN was steadied when crowded for room between ROYAL PERICLES and HEARTLINE which shifted out slightly. Because of this, EXPRESS WIN was not ridden out to the end of the race as it normally would be. Over the final 50 Metres, YELLOW DIAMOND got its head on the side, hung in and proved difficult to ride. A veterinary inspection of OUR LUCKY BABY and DIM SUM after the race did not show any significant findings. A veterinary inspection of PRIME CHAMPION after the race did not show any significant findings other than the horse had lost its right hind plate. AMIGO and YELLOW DIAMOND were sent for sampling.
