Racing Incident Report

The start was delayed due to AMIGO losing its right front plate whilst the horse was parading behind the barriers. The horse was replated and examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. RARE TREASURE bounded as the gates opened and as a result lost a considerable amount of ground. PACKING POWER proved difficult to settle in the early stages. At the 400 Metres, STORMIN JOBURG was steadied when disappointed for running between COUNTRY MAGIC and AMIGO which shifted out slightly. A short distance later, STORMIN JOBURG was checked away from the heels of AMIGO which bumped with COUNTRY MAGIC when attempting a narrow run between that horse and SUPER PLUS. AMIGO was then checked a short distance later when disappointed for running between those two horses. Approaching the 150 Metres, SUPER PLUS and AMIGO were hampered when carried wider by SOVIET PEARL (Apprentice K C Leung) which shifted out to obtain clear running. Apprentice Leung was advised to ensure he exercises care when shifting ground in order to avoid causing interference to other runners. Throughout the race, GOOD LUCK WIN and SUPER PLUS travelled wide and without cover. AMIGO, SOVIET PEARL and MY MEMORY were sent for sampling.
