Racing Incident Report

HEALTHY BLUEBERRY and SOLITAIRE were slow to begin. On jumping, PENGLAI XIANZI was crowded for room between NEW LEADER and NEW KID IN TOWN which shifted in. LEGEND EXPRESS began awkwardly. At the 1200 Metres, LEGEND EXPRESS, which had been ridden along to go forward, was hampered and carried in by BE GRATEFUL which in the early stages was hanging in and at this time was shifted in. CRIMSON LUCK, which was following, was steadied in consequence. Also at the 1200 Metres, PENGLAI XIANZI was awkwardly placed inside the heels of JUST CHILL which shifted in momentarily. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, SUPER PEPPER was steadied away from the heels of PENGLAI XIANZI which was carried in slightly by JUST CHILL. Also making the turn at the 800 Metres, HEALTHY BLUEBERRY and FUN RIDER bumped and raced tight when crowded for room inside NEW LEADER (J Lloyd) which shifted in as J Lloyd pulled down a pair of his goggles. In the middle stages and in the Straight, SUPREME WIN hung out. At the 700 Metres, SUPER PEPPER was steadied away from the heels of PENGLAI XIANZI. Approaching the 600 Metres, HEALTHY BLUEBERRY was checked when crowded for room inside SUPER PEPPER which shifted in after being bumped by LEGEND EXPRESS (C K Tong). C K Tong was reprimanded and told to exercise greater care. FUN RIDER, which was following, was steadied in consequence. In the early part of the Straight, SOLITAIRE and CRIMSON LUCK raced tight. In the Straight, JUST CHILL hung out. J Winks (ROMANCING TAMAR), which finished tailed out, said his mount did not travel at any stage of the race and commenced to give ground well before straightening. He said because of this he did not persevere in riding his mount out in the Straight. ROMANCING TAMAR was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of ROMANCING TAMAR after the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of ROMANCING TAMAR was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, ROMANCING TAMAR will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. FUN RIDER, SUPREME WIN and MARK UP were sent for sampling.
