Racing Incident Report

DIAMOND KNIGHT was slow to begin, then lost further ground when being steadied away from the heels of PRIME SCORE which shifted in after being bumped by HORACE’S CHOICE. On jumping, NORMAN INVADER and HE CAN TANGO bumped. In the early stages, SUPER SPIRIT and BROM BROM were taken back. Approaching the turn at the 800 Metres, PRESTO was steadied when awkwardly placed inside the heels of HORACE’S CHOICE. Also approaching the turn at the 800 Metres, BOSS got its head up and shifted wider on the track when being steadied. For some distance after this, BOSS continued to prove difficult to settle. On straightening, HORACE’S CHOICE was carried wider by PRIME SCORE which shifted to the outside of BULLISH GOLD to obtain clear running. For a short distance after this, HORACE’S CHOICE and PRIME SCORE raced tight. D Whyte (DIAMOND KNIGHT), which was having its first race start in Hong Kong today, reported that his mount raced very greenly and was reluctant to hold its position inside runners. He said approaching the turn at the 800 Metres DIAMOND KNIGHT got its head up and hung out when being steadied away from the heels of HE CAN TANGO. B Prebble (BULLISH GOLD) explained his mount was very fractious in the barriers and reared on several occasions prior to the start being effected. He said BULLISH GOLD travelled fairly in the run and in the Straight kept on initially, however, was somewhat disappointing over the concluding stages. He said the barrier behaviour of BULLISH GOLD may have impacted on the horse’s performance. Before being allowed to race again, BULLISH GOLD will have to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. ABLE SPEED was sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, ABLE SPEED was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm. Before being allowed to race again, ABLE SPEED will be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. BULLISH GOLD, HORACE'S CHOICE and ROYAL PERICLES were sent for sampling. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that BROM BROM had lost its right front plate.
