Racing Incident Report

After being boxed, HARRY HARRY became fractious and kicked out behind, resulting in its left hind leg becoming trapped over the rear gates of its stall and right hind leg being caught on the adjoining partition. HARRY HARRY was removed from its stall and examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was not suitable to race. Acting on this advice, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of HARRY HARRY. Having regard to HARRY HARRY's prior record of having performed in a similar manner, HARRY HARRY will be required to perform satisfactorily in a series of official barrier trials and be subjected to an official veterinary examination before being permitted to race again. EVER KING and MAGIC J were slow to begin. Shortly after the start, PERFECT MATCH and WONG'S FAVOURITE, which were being taken back, bumped when CHATER DE LAGO carried PERFECT MATCH wider. W C Marwing (BOBO WIN) explained it had been intended to ride the horse where it was comfortable which was anticipated to be in a midfield position. He said due to the delay of the start BOBO WIN, which had been standing in its stall for a considerable time, was slow to begin. He said after this he did not ride BOBO WIN along but rather allowed the horse to travel where it was comfortable as instructed. He said as a consequence BOBO WIN travelled in a rearward position and was further back than anticipated. CHATER DE LAGO, PERFECT MATCH and BOBO WIN were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of CHATER DE LAGO, PERFECT MATCH and BOBO WIN after the race did not show any significant findings. BREAKING POINT, BOLD CHAMPION and BULB TREASURE were sent for sampling.
