Racing Incident Report
On jumping, TOP TOP LIGHT was bumped by SUPER GOAL MASTER which shifted in. MASCOT FORTUNE began awkwardly and was slow into stride. C W Wong (KUNG FU) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 800 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of GRAND STORE and SUPER CHARGE, resulting in both horses losing the running to which they were rightfully entitled and being checked. TOP TOP LIGHT, MASCOT FORTUNE, NATIONAL GLORY and PACKING SUPREME were all checked in consequence. C W Wong was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on Monday 1 June 2009 on which day he may resume race riding (3 Hong Kong racedays). This suspension shall commence on Friday 22 May 2009 on which day C W Wong was due to resume race riding from a suspension incurred at the Sha Tin racemeeting on Friday 1 May 2009. In addition, C W Wong was fined $10,000 in lieu of a suspension for a period incorporating 1 further raceday. In the early part of the Straight, GRAND STORE hung in. From the 150 Metres until the 50 Metres, TOP TOP LIGHT was held up and unable to obtain clear running. Near the 50 Metres, MASCOT FORTUNE was steadied when tightened for room between GRAND STORE and KINDACROSS which shifted in momentarily. Approaching the winning post, NOBLE DE BEST was awkwardly placed between PACKING SUPREME and VALUE CHOICE. As a consequence, NOBLE DE BEST was not ridden out fully to the end of the race. Also approaching the winning post, C K Tong (SUPER GOAL MASTER) dropped his left rein. Throughout the race, GOUF travelled wide and without cover. KUNG FU and NATIONAL GLORY were sent for sampling.
