Racing Incident Report
PRESVIS was slow to begin. On jumping, NICONERO was taken back. Near the 1600 Metres, VIVA PATACA was crowded for room inside ARCHIPENKO which when over-racing was awkwardly placed inside the heels of DANESIS. Shortly after this, ARCHIPENKO, which continued to over-race, was checked away from the heels of DANESIS. After the 1500 Metres, PACKING WINNER, which had been racing wide and without cover, was permitted to stride forward. At the 500 Metres, PACKING WINNER became unbalanced when crowded for room inside DANESIS. Prior to straightening, CHINCHON was crowded for room outside VIVA PATACA which shifted out slightly. On straightening, VIVA PATACA, which was having some difficulty obtaining clear running, was steadied away from the heels of ARCHIPENKO. Near the 300 Metres, BULLISH CASH, which was initially carried wider by CHINCHON which in turn was carried out by VIVA PATACA, was steadied away from the heels of THUMBS UP (C Soumillon) which shifted in slightly. C Soumillon was reprimanded and told to exercise greater care. In the Straight, THUMBS UP hung in. When returning to scale following the race, PACKING WINNER took charge of E Saint-Martin, its rider. E Saint-Martin explained as he endeavoured to control PACKING WINNER, the bit pulled through the horse's mouth and he therefore did not have any control over his mount and was dislodged. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that NICONERO was lame in the left front leg. Before being allowed to race again, NICONERO will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. PRESVIS and VIVA PATACA were sent for sampling.
