Racing Incident Report
As the start was effected, STRIKING MASCOT became fractious, bounded in the air, on landing became unbalanced behind and as a consequence lost a considerable amount of ground. After passing the winning post on the first occasion, BREAKING POINT, which had been ridden along, commenced to prove very difficult to settle, near the 1300 Metres bumped with RAIN OF THUNDER, causing both horses to become unbalanced and then afterwards continued to prove difficult to settle until near the 600 Metres. Following the race, W C Marwing (BREAKING POINT) reported because of the manner in which his mount travelled in the run, it failed to finish the race off. BREAKING POINT was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of BREAKING POINT after the race did not show any significant findings. Passing the 1200 Metres, SPEEDY STAR got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of KINGSTON WINNER. Shortly after straightening, KINGSTON WINNER became unbalanced after being bumped on the hindquarters by SPEEDY STAR. At the 250 Metres, MAJESTIC HEART and SWEET BABY bumped. At the 50 Metres, MAJESTIC HEART was momentarily steadied away from the heels of DASHING CHAMPION which shifted out. In the Straight, RAIN OF THUNDER hung in. D Whyte (MAJESTIC HEART) explained after being boxed his mount became fractious. He said just prior to the start being effected, he called to the Starter to alert him that he was having difficulty with his horse in the stalls. He said as the start was effected MAJESTIC HEART put its head down and as a consequence lost a considerable amount of ground. W M Lai (KINGSTON WINNER) was reminded of his responsibility to ride his mounts out to the end of the race where circumstances permit. MAJESTIC HEART, SPEEDY STAR and AMAZING FORTUNE were sent for sampling.
