Racing Incident Report
After being boxed, OUR PEGASUS, which was fractious, reared over and became cast in its stall. When OUR PEGASUS was cast, it lashed out and kicked the legs of HIGH LUCK which was drawn to its outside. OUR PEGASUS and HIGH LUCK were removed from their stalls and examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said OUR PEGASUS had sustained cuts to its left hind leg and HIGH LUCK had sustained a laceration to its left hind cannon and in his opinion both horses were not suitable to race. Acting on this advice, the Stewards ordered the withdrawals of OUR PEGASUS and HIGH LUCK. Before being allowed to race again, OUR PEGASUS will be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination whilst HIGH LUCK will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. On jumping, DUMBARTON ROCK was bumped by THE ONLY KID which was carried out by GO DAN GO. In the early stages, KING FAY FAY proved difficult to settle. At the 300 Metres, FINN MACCOOL, which was attempting to improve into a narrow run between HURRICANE DASH and ISTIDE, was steadied when disappointed for running between those horses as a result of ISTIDE shifting out slightly away from CLEMENT ELITE which improved on its inside. No action was taken. For a considerable distance after the 200 Metres, GO DAN GO raced tight inside DUMBARTON ROCK which hung in. BIG WINNER AGAIN, which was racing to the inside of GO DAN GO, was inconvenienced. Throughout the race, HAPPY WIN travelled wide and without cover. Y T Cheng (LUCKYME) explained because the horse had been disappointing in the manner in which it had been finishing its races off when either leading or racing in a forward position of recent times, he was asked to allow LUCKYME to begin and travel where it was comfortable. He said LUCKYME travelled behind midfield, however, again disappointed in the manner in which it closed the race off. BIG WINNER AGAIN, CLEMENT ELITE and DUMBARTON ROCK were sent for sampling.
