Racing Incident Report
GREEN GLORY and VERY FIT were slow to begin. When questioned regarding the poor performance of SCOOT DA LOOT, which was stepping up in distance to 1600 Metres for the first time today, Y T Cheng was not able to offer any explanation. He said SCOOT DA LOOT travelled comfortably in the lead at a tempo to suit, making the Home Turn was inclined to hang out and shortly afterwards when placed under pressure did not respond to his riding and over the final 300 Metres gave ground. Mr A Schutz, trainer of SCOOT DA LOOT, was unable to offer any explanation for the poor performance of the horse. He said he had been satisfied with the work of SCOOT DA LOOT in the lead up to today’s race and the stable had thought the horse would perform well. He said he was disappointed with the manner in which SCOOT DA LOOT gave ground in the Home Straight after enjoying a nice run in the early and middle stages. SCOOT DA LOOT was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of SCOOT DA LOOT after the race did not show any significant findings. In the circumstances, the performance of SCOOT DA LOOT was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, SCOOT DA LOOT will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. GREEN GLORY, BEAUTIFUL CHOICE and LIVERBIRD were sent for sampling.
