Racing Incident Report
In the early stages, BAAZIGAR proved difficult to settle and near the 1400 Metres got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of JAMESINA. Near the 1200 Metres, JAMESINA, which was proving difficult to settle, became unbalanced when being steadied away from the heels of TRIUMPHANT DIAMOND. Prior to straightening, BAAZIGAR was steadied and shifted to the outside of JAMESINA into clear running. In the Straight, BAAZIGAR hung in. B Doyle (FANTASTIC DANCER) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 200 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of LONDON EXPRESS, resulting in that horse losing its rightful running and being checked. B Doyle was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on Monday 20 October 2008 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays). The commencement of the suspension was deferred until after the Sha Tin racemeeting on Sunday 12 October 2008. Z Purton (LONDON EXPRESS) was told whilst the Stewards accepted his mount received interference at the 200 Metres, he should have afterwards resumed riding his mount out at least hands and heels to the winning post. Whilst the Stewards were satisfied the riding of B Doyle, 5th placegetter, did not affect the horse's finishing position, he nonetheless was reminded of his responsibility to ensure he rides his mounts out at least and heels right to the winning post where circumstances permit. JAMESINA and BAAZIGAR were sent for sampling.
