Racing Incident Report

FLAMING LAMBORGINI began awkwardly. In the early stages, HORACE’S CHOICE was taken back. After the 1200 Metres, HURRICANE DASH, which was proving difficult to settle, got its head up. Making the Home Turn, MAVERICK STAR and GREAT GUY were carried wider by HURRICANE DASH which shifted out to obtain clear running. Over about the final 150 Metres, SURVEY SURVEY was not able to obtain clear running. Because of this, SURVEY SURVEY was not fully tested. Throughout the race, GALEN WIN travelled wide and without cover. O Doleuze (HORACE’S CHOICE) reported when placed under pressure after straightening his mount failed to respond to his riding and galloped as if something might have been amiss with the horse. He said because of this he did not ride HORACE’S CHOICE out over the final 200 Metres. HORACE’S CHOICE was sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, HORACE’S CHOICE was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, HORACE’S CHOICE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. KINGS FALCON and REGENCY DRAGON were sent for sampling.
