Racing Incident Report

CLEMENT ELITE was slow into stride. At the 900 Metres, ACTIVE VALOUR was left racing wide and without cover. Near the 200 Metres, D Whyte (SPEEDY) dropped his whip. Near the 150 Metres, MY FAITH was checked when crowded for room inside CLEMENT ELITE (D Beadman) which when closing the race off fairly improved towards the heels of SPEEDY and then was shifted towards the inside of that horse in an endeavour to obtain clear running. As CLEMENT ELITE commenced to cause crowding to MY FAITH, D Beadman checked his mount and shifted it out and again was awkwardly placed close to the heels of SPEEDY. In the circumstances, D Beadman was severely reprimanded and told to ensure there is sufficient room for improving towards runs. STEEL NERVES, ENCORE, HELENE ELITE and SOUND OF SILENCE were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of STEEL NERVES, ENCORE, HELENE ELITE and SOUND OF SILENCE after the race did not show any significant findings. SPEEDY and JOLLY BIRD were sent for sampling.
Additional Veterinary Reports (released on 16 June 2008)
ENCORE, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said at that time there were no significant findings. ENCORE was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer J Size this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be sore in its right front tendon. Before being allowed to race again, ENCORE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
