Racing Incident Report

After arriving at the Start, C K Tong expressed concern over the action of DECENT FELLOW during the preliminary. DECENT FELLOW was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. Following the race, C K Tong reported DECENT FELLOW did not handle today’s track conditions. SUPER IDEAL was slow to begin and then hung in in the Straight. When the gates opened, HOLIGAN lifted its front feet off the ground and as a consequence lost ground. SUPER began awkwardly, bounded in the air and lost ground. Near the 1400 Metres, DON RICARDO, which was being taken back, became unbalanced and lost ground when momentarily crowded for room between SUPER and KING OF TURF which shifted in. In the early stages, CLASSIC KING and SUPER proved difficult to settle. Throughout the race, CASH MONEY and CLASSIC KING travelled wide and without cover. When questioned regarding the performance of the last start winner, SUPER, Y T Cheng said in his opinion the horse did not handle the rise in class today. He added in the early part of the Straight he endeavoured to shift SUPER to the outside to obtain clear running, however, he was unable to do so when CLASSIC KING held its position. He said in the past SUPER has performed best when finishing on the outside. SUPER was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of SUPER after the race did not show any significant findings. CHINA LUJIA and SPIRIT OF LO PAN were sent for sampling.
