Racing Incident Report
JIANG JUN was slow to begin and then making the Home Turn hung out. WATCH WHAT HAPPENS was slow into stride. On jumping, MASTER POWER was crowded for room between GRAND STORE and BEAR MACHO which began awkwardly and shifted in. At the 900 Metres, MASTER POWER was steadied away from the heels of BEAR MACHO. At the 800 Metres, MASTER POWER, which was racing keenly, was again steadied away from the heels of BEAR MACHO. For a considerable distance approaching the 200 Metres, WATCH WHAT HAPPENS had difficulty obtaining clear running. In the Straight, BEAR MACHO hung in. Throughout the race, GLOBAL WIN travelled wide and without cover. Apprentice K T Yeung (TIGER PRAWN) explained from the outside barrier in what was anticipated to be a quickly run race he was instructed to ride his horse from the rear. He said in accordance with those instructions on jumping he eased TIGER PRAWN and shifted across behind runners. He said after shifting to a rearward position he then commenced to try and endeavour to improve his position, however, TIGER PRAWN did not respond and remained travelling in a rearward position. He said prior to entering the Home Straight he commenced to ride along hands and heels, then in the Straight when being ridden out TIGER PRAWN initially responded well, however, over the concluding stages made only fair ground. TIGER PRAWN was sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, TIGER PRAWN was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said it was lame in its right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, TIGER PRAWN will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. WATCH WHAT HAPPENS, BEAR MACHO and SUPERIOR UNIT were sent for sampling.
