Racing Incident Report

After arriving at the Start, the tongue tie fitted to MASTERY was replaced. THE GOODIES was slow to begin and lost a considerable amount of ground. SIR LAGO was slow to begin, then shortly afterwards lost further ground when checked as a result of being crowded between FANTASTIC GUY and COURAGEOUSHEART which shifted in after being bumped by KING HOGAN which in turn shifted in after making contact with REAL SPECIAL. After the 1400 Metres, KING HOGAN was left racing wide and without cover and passing the 800 Metres was allowed to stride forward. Approaching the 700 Metres, THE GOODIES was steadied away from the heels of FLORAL NIRVANA. In the Straight, REAL SPECIAL hung in and COURAGEOUSHEART hung out. When questioned, G Boss (FANTASTIC GUY) said in his opinion the first 600 Metres of the race was run at a reasonable tempo. He said approaching the 800 Metres he felt the tempo of the race was beginning to steady and he decided despite having a position following FLORAL NIRVANA to shift out in an endeavour to commence making ground. He said FANTASTIC GUY is a one-paced horse which is not suited by having to sprint home. He said today however FANTASTIC GUY did not respond to his riding and in the Straight he was concerned something might be amiss with the horse as it did not finish off as it had done at its previous start. FANTASTIC GUY was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of FANTASTIC GUY after the race did not show any significant findings. Before being allowed to race again, FANTASTIC GUY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. REAL SPECIAL and DANESIS were sent for sampling.
