Racing Incident Report

RARE TREASURE was withdrawn on 22.12.07 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore foot) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter FANTASTIC TIME (F Coetzee). Before being allowed to race again, RARE TREASURE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. AMAZING VENTURE began awkwardly and lost ground. LOHAN was slow to begin. From a wide barrier, on jumping LUCKY DRAGON was steadied and taken across behind runners. Making the turn after the 700 Metres, EXCELLENT PLASTIC hung out. At the 500 Metres, LOHAN was steadied away from the heels of OSCAR PRINCE. Making the Home Turn, LUCKY DRAGON was steadied when awkwardly placed close to the heels of AMAZING VENTURE. At the 350 Metres, LOHAN was steadied away from the heels of AMAZING VENTURE which shifted out when barely clear. Approaching the 300 Metres, LUCKY DRAGON was checked away from the heels of GENERAL KINGY which had initially been shifted out in an endeavour to obtain clear running and then was steadied away from the heels of FULL BLESSINGS which after being disappointed for running between ANIMATION and RICH DRAGON also shifted out at this time. After this, GENERAL KINGY was shifted to the inside of FULL BLESSINGS. In the circumstances, no action was taken. In the Straight, BIG KAHUNA hung in. Throughout the race, NEW ASIA FORWARD travelled wide and without cover. LIFELINE PEGASUS and RICH DRAGON were sent for sampling.
