Racing Incident Report
After being boxed, KING CREOLE became fractious and sat down behind. KING CREOLE was removed from the stall and examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. Before being allowed to race again, KING CREOLE will have to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. KING CREOLE, ARISTOCRACY and GAUCHO were slow to begin. Near the 900 Metres, CALIFORNIA HEART was steadied to avoid the heels of KEEN TAKER (M Nunes) which shifted in when not properly clear. M Nunes was reprimanded and told to exercise greater care. At the 250 Metres, GENERAL KINGY and CALIFORNIA HEART bumped while racing tight. D Nikolic (BUDDIES SPIRIT) said it was hoped from a favourable draw the horse would be able to travel in midfield or slightly better. He said BUDDIES SPIRIT in the past had shown itself to race indifferently. He said today BUDDIES SPIRIT began better than it often does and when he was able to obtain the lead without having to make use of the horse, he decided to continue in that position. GAUCHO was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of GAUCHO after the race did not show any significant findings. KEEN TAKER and BUDDIES SPIRIT were sent for sampling.
