Racing Incident Report
GOLD GEM proved difficult to load. For the major part of the race, GOLD GEM hung in, near the 500 Metres became badly unbalanced and blundered after being bumped by FUN which was carried out by HAPPY SUNDAY which in turn was carried wider by WARRIOR which had its head on the side and shifted ground. After this incident, GOLD GEM hung in, was checked to avoid the heels of FUN and then was not ridden out. The performance of GOLD GEM, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, GOLD GEM will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. When GOLD GEM checked near the 500 Metres, DECISIVE, which was following, was checked to avoid the heels of that horse. DECISIVE was slow to begin. Shortly after the start, BRAVO BRAVO lost ground when crowded for room between WARRIOR and HAPPY SUNDAY which shifted in. Also shortly after the start, FUN was checked when crowded for room between GOLD GEM and CHARMING MONKEYS which got its head on the side and shifted out abruptly. WARRIOR and BRAVO BRAVO were sent for sampling.
