Racing Incident Report
On jumping, SECRET OF KINGS was bumped by RELY ON ME which shifted out. NORTHERN HERO and WISE LOVER were slow to begin. In the early stages, MUTUAL FRIENDSHIP proved difficult to settle and on a number of occasions got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of runners in front. Approaching the turn at the 800 Metres, NORTHERN HERO raced keenly and was awkwardly placed close to the heels of ENCHANTED. On straightening, YANKEE was carried wider by NORTHERN HERO which at this time shifted to the outside of ENCHANTED into clear running. In the early part of the Straight, SECRET OF KINGS had difficulty obtaining clear running. At the 200 Metres, VICTORY TURBO and WISE LOVER were checked as a result of FOREVER FIGHT shifting out after initially being carried out by ARROGANCE which in turn was carried out by SUPER FIGHTER which when giving ground was carried wider by ALL TIME HIGH (S K Sit) which got its head on the side and shifted ground. Some inconvenience was also caused to YANKEE. S K Sit was told to exercise greater care. After the 100 Metres, ENCHANTED was bumped by NORTHERN HERO which shifted in. Throughout the race, ARROGANCE and YANKEE travelled wide and without cover. When questioned regarding the poor performance of VICTORY TURBO, B Prebble said the horse was racing first up from a spell today and he made some use of the horse in the early stages to take advantage of its favourable barrier. He said as a consequence of this VICTORY TURBO did not finish the race off. He said VICTORY TURBO raced in a manner which indicated it would derive benefit from today's race. VICTORY TURBO was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of VICTORY TURBO after the race did not show any significant findings. MUTUAL FRIENDSHIP, NORTHERN HERO and PRIME SCORE were sent for sampling.
