Racing Incident Report

GALACTIC TACTIC began awkwardly, got its head up and lost ground. At the 800 Metres, OCTABILITY was steadied to avoid the heels of THUNDER FLASH (C K Tong) which shifted in when not properly clear. C K Tong was severely reprimanded and told to exercise greater care. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, OCTABILITY was checked when awkwardly placed between RAINBOW OASIS which at this time changed legs and shifted out and SPEED FIGHTER which got its head on the side and shifted in away from HAR HAR CHARMS which also shifted in slightly. In the circumstances, no action was taken. Also making the turn at the 600 Metres, DASHING WINNER hung out. When questioned regarding the poor performance of THUNDER FLASH which was racing first up today from a let-up, C K Tong said after being taken on in the lead in the early stages and then being crossed at the 600 Metres, THUNDER FLASH failed to finish the race off. He said the horse travelled comfortably, kept on in the early part of the Straight, but over the concluding stages gave ground noticeably. THUNDER FLASH was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of THUNDER FLASH after the race did not show any significant findings. CLASSA FOR EVER and GIGA SPIRITS were sent for sampling. After the race, it was reported OCTABILITY had sustained a cut to the right front leg.
