Racing Incident Report
TATTENHALL DELIGHT, which was restless in the stalls, was slow to begin. SPRING SMILES was slow to begin, then on jumping blundered. Despite being ridden along in the early stages, SHINING DAY failed to muster speed, then after entering the Back Straight was shifted out and ridden along to improve its position and cross to race outside the leader. Entering the Back Straight, TATTENHALL DELIGHT became unbalanced, shifted in and bumped MYTHIC STEED. Passing the 900 Metres, the tempo of the race steadied and as a consequence SPEEDING MOLLY was checked away from the heels of KING OF SHAVER. On straightening, JOYFUL YEARS was steadied and shifted to the outside of CHINSOLA to obtain clear running. For a considerable distance after straightening, KING OF SHAVER had difficulty obtaining clear running. Over the final 200 Metres, MYTHIC STEED had difficulty obtaining clear running. For the major part of the Home Straight, SPEEDING MOLLY was not able to obtain clear running. Close to the finish, TATTENHALL DELIGHT was steadied when awkwardly placed between MYTHIC STEED and ALL OUR WAY which at this stage shifted in. Because of this, TATTENHALL DELIGHT was not ridden out to the end of the race. For the major part of the race, SOUND OF SILENCE and ALL OUR WAY travelled wide and without cover. SHINING DAY and JUSTINIAN were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of SHINING DAY after the race did not show any significant findings. After the race, JUSTINIAN was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said the horse was showing signs of the "thumps". Before being allowed to race again, JUSTINIAN will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. JOYFUL YEARS and SPRING SMILES were sent for sampling.
