Racing Incident Report

RACING SPIRIT was withdrawn on 20.3.07 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (fever) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter PROFIT HILL (D Nikolic). Before being allowed to race again, RACING SPIRIT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. SUPER BONUS and JET RISE were slow to begin. Shortly after the start, REWARDING STAR and PROFIT HILL were crowded for room between AWESOME EAGLE and STAR PRODIGY which shifted out. Also shortly after the start, DANCING FAITH was steadied away from the heels of MUTUAL GAIN which shifted in. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, JET RISE was steadied when crowded for room inside WYNDAM PLENTY which at this time was carried in slightly by OPTIC KING. In this incident, WYNDAM PLENTY was also steadied. Also making the turn at the 600 Metres, PROFIT HILL became unbalanced when awkwardly placed inside STAR PRODIGY. After the 600 Metres, MUTUAL GAIN was left racing without cover. Near the 100 Metres, GOOD TO GREAT, which was closing the race off fairly, was steadied away from the heels of STAR PRODIGY. In the Straight, OPTIC KING hung in and over the concluding stages raced tight outside WINNING CHAMP. WYNDAM PLENTY was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of WYNDAM PLENTY after the race did not show any significant findings. OPTIC KING and WINNING CHAMP were sent for sampling.
