Racing Incident Report
On jumping, GOLDEN WIN bumped with VIVA FIGHTER which shifted out after stumbling. As a consequence, GOLDEN WIN lost ground. PRIDEOFTHEORIENT was slow to begin. Approaching the turn at the 800 Metres, CRUSH ON YOU was steadied away from the heels of STEP TO WIN which came back to a position behind PERFECT TREASURE. In the middle stages, PRIDEOFTHEORIENT, which was racing ungenerously, hung out. After the 200 Metres, PRIDEOFTHEORIENT, which was commencing to close to the race off strongly, was steadied and shifted out to avoid the heels of FORTE. After this, PRIDEOFTHEORIENT had some difficulty obtaining clear running and near the winning post was awkwardly placed close to the heels of ZERO GRAVITY. At the 50 Metres, CRUSH ON YOU was crowded for room inside SWEET BABY which got its head on the side and shifted in. In the Home Straight, FORTE hung in and proved difficult to ride. Apprentice C K Tong (VIVA FIGHTER) explained throughout the race the horse hung out and hung out badly making the turns. He said in the middle stages his saddle shifted to the right as he was endeavouring to prevent VIVA FIGHTER from shifting wider on the track. He did say after straightening he was able to rectify his saddle's position. The performance of VIVA FIGHTER, a last start winner which tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, VIVA FIGHTER will have to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. VIVA FIGHTER and GOLDEN WIN were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of VIVA FIGHTER and GOLDEN WIN after the race did not show any significant findings. SINGING DINERS and STEP TO WIN were sent for sampling. After the race, it was reported SINGING DINERS had lost its right front plate.
