Racing Incident Report
Due to there being no other apprentice jockeys available to ride DANEHILL WARRIOR, in the exceptional circumstances, the Stewards gave permission for Apprentice P H Lo to ride the horse at 112 lbs. This meant Apprentice Lo claimed 3 lbs of his entitled 7 lb allowance. When being led to the Parade Ring, MULTI MILLIONS shifted its right hind plate. This plate was reset. The horse was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. HIGH POINT began awkwardly and lost ground. Shortly after the start, SOLAR MIGHTY got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of MEDIC POWER. Approaching the turn at the 800 Metres, GOLD MEDAL WINNER was steadied when awkwardly placed close to the heels of DRAGON AND GOLD (Apprentice C W Wong) which shifted in when not properly clear. Apprentice Wong was told to exercise greater care. After the 800 Metres, HAR HAR CHARMS, which was proving difficult to settle, shifted out when close to the heels of CHATER POWER. At the 350 Metres, CALL ME CULLEN was steadied when crowded for room between OPERATION SECRET and BULB TREASURE which at this time drifted in. From the 300 Metres until after the 200 Metres, ALWAYS GIGGLE was held up and unable to obtain clear running, then after the 100 Metres was shifted to the inside of DRAGON AND GOLD to continue going forward. Throughout the race, BULB TREASURE and OPERATION SECRET travelled wide and without cover. HAR HAR CHARMS was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of HAR HAR CHARMS after the race did not show any significant findings. MEDIC POWER and HIGH POINT were sent for sampling.
