Racing Incident Report

SUCCESSIVE GAINS and GREENESSY were slow to begin. AMAZING ME began awkwardly and lost ground. From a wide barrier, CHEEKY was taken across behind runners. In the early stages, BEST POWER hung in, approaching the winning post on the first occasion shifted away from MULTI MILLIONS, causing GREENESSY to be crowded for room and steadied. Passing the 1200 Metres, BEST POWER was steadied when awkwardly placed inside the heels of AMAZING ME. Near the 800 Metres, CHEEKY commenced to over-race and shifted wider on the track away from the heels of SOCRATES. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, SOUNDS BEST raced tight inside MULTI MILLIONS which got its head on the side and shifted in away from SOCRATES. O Doleuze (SOCRATES), which performed poorly, said from the outside draw the horse was not able to obtain a position close to the rail. He said because of the manner in which the race was run he was required to work hard on SOCRATES throughout the race and at no stage did the horse travel and was disappointing as it has been in the past. SOCRATES was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of SOCRATES after the race did not show any significant findings. SILVER SUN and SOUNDS BEST were sent for sampling.
