Racing Incident Report

After being boxed, TELECOM OWNER became fractious and kicked out behind. At the same time, an outrider was dislodged from his lead pony which then completed two circuits of the course riderless before being recaptured. This resulted in a delay to the start. TELECOM OWNER was removed from its stall and examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who said the horse had sustained a laceration to the right hock and in his opinion was not suitable to race. Acting on this advice, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of TELECOM OWNER. While there was a delay to the start, SHANGDONG GENERAL became fractious, reared in its stall and struck its head on an overhead bar. SHANGDONG GENERAL was removed from the stall and examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who said the horse had sustained a laceration to its head and in his opinion was not suitable to race. Acting on this advice, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of SHANGDONG GENERAL. Before being allowed to race again, TELECOM OWNER and SHANGDONG GENERAL will both have to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. FAVOURITE SUPREME was slow to begin. STRIKING MASCOT, ENERGETIC BOY, SUNNY GOLF and SUPER GENKI began awkwardly. At the 800 Metres, JOLLY WONGCHOY was awkwardly placed close to the heels of SUPER GENKI which at this time got its head on the side and shifted ground when hanging. Over the final 200 Metres, DANESIS and JOLLY WONGCHOY hung out. Over the concluding stages, FAVOURITE SUPREME drifted inwards. FAVOURITE SUPREME and DANESIS were sent for sampling.
