Racing Incident Report

LASER TIGER began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped with VIVA FIGHTER which shifted in after being bumped by TREASURE PLANET. FORTE began awkwardly and lost ground. INSIDER began awkwardly, shifted out, bumped the hindquarters of ZERO GRAVITY, then shortly afterwards was checked when crowded for room between ZERO GRAVITY and TOP STITCH which shifted out. For the major part of the race, FORTE hung in, near the 400 Metres shifted ground, causing inconvenience to COP HILL LAD and OKEYDOKEY. For the major part of the race, VALUE CHOICE hung in. Throughout the race, VIVA FIGHTER hung out. W M Lai (TREASURE PLANET), which was having its first start for a new stable today, said he had been instructed by the trainer to have the horse in midfield with cover. He said TREASURE PLANET hung out in the early stages and again when under pressure after the 400 Metres. He said because of this he was not able to ride TREASURE PLANET out fully. When questioned regarding the poor performance of LASER TIGER, B Prebble said the horse did receive some buffeting at the start, however, in his opinion this was not of great significance. He said after this LASER TIGER travelled only satisfactorily for the first 200 Metres. He said LASER TIGER then did not respond as he thought it should, however, he was not able to offer any explanation for the performance of the horse which he said had been working well in the lead up to the race. LASER TIGER was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. OKEYDOKEY was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of LASER TIGER and OKEYDOKEY after the race did not show any significant findings. VIVA FIGHTER and TOP STITCH were sent for sampling.
