Racing Incident Report

BROWN BEAR began awkwardly and lost ground. SUPREMACY began awkwardly and got its head up. Making the turn after the 700 Metres and in the Straight, DASHING WINNER hung out. Throughout the race, GAUCHO and SOLAR MIGHTY travelled wide and without cover. A Delpech (MAGIC TEMPLE) explained prior to straightening he commenced to improve his position behind TAIJI SPIRIT. He said he was aware SOLAR MIGHTY which had been racing wide and without cover commenced to give ground, therefore he elected to improve his position inside the heels of that runner as he felt it would weaken and provide him with clear running early in the Straight. He said SOLAR MIGHTY kept on for longer than he had anticipated and as a consequence he was held up and unable to go forward. He said in the early part of the Straight for him to have shifted to the outside would have required him to steady his mount and lose considerable ground. He did add after the 200 Metres when in clear running he dropped his whip. Y T Cheng (INDUSTRIAL MARVEL) said when the horse was successful at its last start it was very calm prior to the race. He said today after arriving behind the barriers INDUSTRIAL MARVEL became very fractious and sweated up noticeably. He said INDUSTRIAL MARVEL travelled satisfactorily in the run, however, in the Straight failed to respond to his riding and was disappointing. INDUSTRIAL MARVEL was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. SPEED FIGHTER was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of INDUSTRIAL MARVEL after the race did not show any significant findings. After the race, SPEED FIGHTER was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said the horse had sustained a laceration to the tongue. PLEZAYRE and DASHING WINNER were sent for sampling.
