Racing Incident Report

GRAND NOBLE was slow to begin. For some distance approaching and passing the 1400 Metres, CHATER SILK, which was proving difficult to settle, was steadied when awkwardly placed close to the heels of DANSOLDE and tight inside SANBENITO. After this, CHATER SILK continued to prove difficult to settle when racing without cover. From shortly after straightening until near the 200 Metres, STILTON was unable to obtain clear running. In the Straight, WIN PRACTITIONER raced ungenerously and hung out, near the 300 Metres shifted ground and bumped CHATER SILK, then near the 100 Metres again shifted ground and on two occasions made contact with SANBENITO. At the 150 Metres, CHATER SILK was steadied away from the heels of WIN PRACTITIONER which at this time shifted out. In the Straight, EYE WITNESS hung out and MASTER MARAUDER hung in. For the major part of the race, REGAL THRILLS travelled wide and without cover. When questioned regarding the poor performance of DANSOLDE, B Prebble said the horse travelled comfortably in the early and middle stages, however, failed to quicken when placed under pressure in the Straight. He said in his opinion DANSOLDE felt "flat" today. DANSOLDE was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of DANSOLDE after the race did not show any significant findings. WIN PRACTITIONER and ROMANTIC GREEN were sent for sampling.
