Racing Incident Report

GREENESSY and SHABU SHABU were slow to begin. AMPLE GAINS began awkwardly, shifted out, bumped the hindquarters of LHOJONG and lost ground. After the 1200 Metres, AMPLE GAINS got is head up when being steadied away from the heels of LHOJONG. For a considerable distance approaching and passing the 200 Metres, NORTHERNER had difficulty obtaining clear running and was shifted wider on the track. At the 150 Metres, LIBERAL'S CHOICE was steadied when crowded for room between WHATABOB and DISGUISE (O Doleuze) which at this time got its head on the side and hung in away from LHOJONG. O Doleuze was severely reprimanded and told in similar circumstances he would be expected to stop riding and straighten his mount. M W Leung (RUM SHOT) explained he had been instructed to ensure from a wide barrier he obtained a position with cover. He said he was able to shift to a one off position approaching the winning post on the first occasion which provided him cover behind DISGUISE. He said after passing the winning post on the first occasion LHOJONG which had been racing to his inside was able to gain a slight advantage on him and almost immediately commenced to shift away from the rail. He said approaching the 1200 Metres he elected to steady RUM SHOT to ensure he was not carried into a three wide position without cover. He said as a consequence LHOJOING shifted to a position behind DISGUISE. GREENESSY was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of GREENESSY after the race did not show any significant findings. LHOJONG and DISGUISE were sent for sampling.
