Racing Incident Report
KING CREOLE was slow to begin. K-JACK, which was fractious in its stall, shifted out at the start and bumped PERFECT TIME. CRUSH ON YOU began awkwardly and was then taken across behind runners. When the gates opened, TOP TOP LIGHT lifted its front feet off the ground and as a consequence lost ground. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, CRUSH ON YOU was tightened for room inside LIGHTNING MOUNT which at this time was steadied away from the heels of TIGER RIDGE. CLEMENT ELITE, which was racing wide and without cover and was proving difficult to settle, made the turn at the 800 Metres awkwardly. Throughout the race, MASTER YING hung in and near the 300 Metres was steadied away from the heels of GOLDEN WIN when that horse shifted out. When questioned, O Doleuze (GOLDEN WIN) said at its last start in the early stages of the Straight he shifted GOLDEN WIN into clear running, the horse improved its position to reach the lead passing the 200 Metres, however, then did not finish the race off and in his opinion was disappointing. He said because of this it was decided today to drop GOLDEN WIN back to 1200 Metres, ride the horse with cover and endeavour to make his run as late as possible. He said GOLDEN WIN followed TIGER RIDGE in the run and after the 500 Metres he was close to the heels of that horse. He said rounding the Home Turn there was an opportunity for him to shift to the outside of TIGER RIDGE and obtain a run on the inside of MASTER YING, however, he elected not to do so having in mind his riding instructions. He said after the 400 Metres he shifted to the inside of TIGER RIDGE which was improving its position, however, near the 300 Metres TIGER RIDGE drifted in, obliging him to at that time steady GOLDEN WIN and shift out to obtain clear running. He said GOLDEN WIN afterwards closed the race off fairly. GOLDEN CROWN, TOP TOP LIGHT and TIGER RIDGE were sent for sampling.
