Racing Incident Report
WEALTHY began awkwardly and got its head up. Near the 1500 Metres, when being steadied, GOOD NATURE got its head up and lost ground. Making the Home Turn, HAIL THE STORM got its head on the side and hung in. On straightening, CLEAN SWEEP was steadied when disappointed for running between TIBER and GOOD BA BA. Over the concluding stages, GOOD BA BA hung in. The performance of SATURN, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, SATURN will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. SATURN, HAWKES BAY and LOTZATOW were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of SATURN and LOTZATOW after the race did not show any significant findings. After the race, HAWKES BAY was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucopus in the horse's trachea. GOOD BA BA and SIR ERNESTO were sent for sampling.
