Racing Incident Report

The start of this race was delayed as THUNDER VALLEY proved very difficult to load. Before being allowed to race again, THUNDER VALLEY will have to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial. After being boxed, LIGHTNING MOUNT became fractious and reared. LIGHTNING MOUNT was removed from its stall and examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. Before being allowed to race again, LIGHTNING MOUNT will have to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. On jumping, LIGHTNING MOUNT was bumped by MAKE A MINT which began awkwardly and shifted out. For some distance after this, MAKE A MINT raced ungenerously. Shortly after the start, THE ONE was checked when crowded for room between WISDOM EXPRESS and MEDIC POWER which got its head on the side and shifted out away from THUNDER VALLEY. Approaching the 800 Metres, HOLD HANDS was reluctant to hold its position inside CHINA HERO and lost ground, then near the 700 Metres became unbalanced, blundered and shifted out. After this, HOLD HANDS raced ungenerously for some distance. At the 700 Metres, WISDOM EXPRESS was steadied when awkwardly placed between THE ONE and CHINA HERO which at this time shifted in slightly. On straightening, WILD ACE had difficulty obtaining clear running between WISDOM EXPRESS and HOLD HANDS. In the early part of the Straight, GOLDEN CROWN hung in and was awkwardly placed close to the heels of THUNDER VALLEY, then near the 350 Metres was inconvenienced when THUNDER VALLEY which was commencing to give ground shifted out after being brushed by MEDIC POWER. After this, GOLDEN CROWN continued to hang in and proved difficult to ride for the remainder of the race. At the 200 Metres, HOLD HANDS bounded in the air and became unbalanced. After the 200 Metres, THE ONE got its head on the side and shifted out. In the Straight, CLEMENT ELITE hung out and proved difficult to ride. CHINA HERO was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of CHINA HERO after the race did not show any significant findings. MEDIC POWER and GOLDEN CROWN were sent for sampling.
