Racing Incident Report
BULLDOZER was slow into stride. On jumping, DASHING CHAMPION was crowded for room inside GANBARIA which shifted in. Near the 1100 Metres, TIGER RIDGE, which was wide on the track, was steadied when awkwardly placed inside GANBARIA which had its head on the side and shifted in. GENERAL KINGY failed to muster speed in the early stages. On entering the Back Straight, DASHING CHAMPION, TIGER RIDGE and GLORY YEARS, which were racing wide, were carried wider by GENERAL KINGY which shifted ground when proving difficult to settle. In the middle stages and particularly making the turns, NATIVE KID hung out. At the 100 Metres, TIGER RIDGE was steadied away from the heels of GANBARIA which after travelling wide and without cover was giving ground. At the 50 Metres, KIMBERLEY MINES was awkwardly placed inside BULLDOZER (O Doleuze) which got its head on the side and shifted in. Because of this, O Doleuze stropped riding and straightened his mount. GLORY YEARS and TIGER RIDGE were sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, GLORY YEARS was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucopus in the horse's trachea and a continuous displacement of the soft palate. A veterinary inspection of TIGER RIDGE after the race did not show any significant findings. BRILLIANT FLASH and LUCKY FRUIT were sent for sampling.
Additional Veterinary Reports (released on 21 December 2006)
GLORY YEARS, which performed poorly, was examined by the Senior Veterinary Officer. He said at that time an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucopus in the horse's trachea and a continuous displacement of the soft palate. GLORY YEARS was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer A Lee this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be sore in the left front cannon. Before being allowed to race again, GLORY YEARS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
